Why Your Gift Matters
The Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. (VTC), established in 1991, drives millions of miles each year assisting community members in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties. Over the last 30 years, this nonprofit organization has provided essential rides to health care appointments, food sources, and other health-related destinations for residents. Through the generosity of the community and many partnerships across NNY, volunteer drivers provide over 5 million miles annually.
You would be impressed with the dedication and caring of the volunteers who transport clients. This is truly “neighbors helping neighbors.” Having access to critical-needs transportation is often the difference between a person’s ability to remain healthy and live independently at home versus being placed in a healthcare facility.
