Why We Do It
The mission behind every mile.
Since 1991, the Volunteer Transportation Center has been built on a simple idea: no neighbor should miss a medical appointment, go without groceries, or lose their independence because they can’t get a ride. Our volunteer drivers donate their time and their own vehicles to carry neighbors across Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties to the appointments and services that keep life moving.
Every mile is driven by a volunteer. Every dollar raised goes to keeping them on the road. Watch the video above to see what a ride means to the people we serve, and to the volunteers who serve them.
